Terms of Service
1. About These Terms
These terms set out the conditions for using HOSHIDOU ("the Service"), provided by Gokansha G.K. ("we" or "the Company"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
2. Service Description
The Service is a web application for calculating and displaying Western astrology charts. It offers twelve chart types including the Single Wheel, Triple Wheel, and Synastry, along with astrocartography maps, an ephemeris, and AI-written books (Star Scrolls) available for purchase. Features may be added or changed over time.
3. Accounts and User Obligations
Users are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the security of their accounts. Passwords must be kept confidential and not shared with third parties.
4. Paid Plans
In addition to the free plan, the Service offers paid plans (Hoshigatari and Hoshimichibiki) that renew automatically each month or year. Prices are listed on the Commercial Disclosure page.
Paid plans are charged at sign-up and renew automatically at the chosen interval (monthly or yearly).
You can cancel at any time. After cancellation, access continues until the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are given for mid-period cancellation.
If you switch to a lower plan, data created on a higher plan is not deleted. However, data and features beyond the scope of the new plan may become unavailable for viewing or editing.
5. Star Scroll Purchases
A Star Scroll (星の巻, hoshi no maki) is a one-time service: from the birth details you enter, AI writes a book-length reading and delivers it to you. You are charged when the purchase is completed, and generation starts immediately after payment.
Because each Star Scroll is written after you order it, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded once generation has started. If generation fails, we regenerate the Star Scroll; if it still cannot be delivered, we issue a refund. If the Star Scroll you receive differs from what we described before purchase, we remake it free of charge; if it still cannot be put right, we issue a refund.
6. Gifts
Star Scrolls can be sent as gifts. The recipient needs a free HOSHIDOU account to receive one, and the gift link is valid for one year from issue. Once paid, a gift cannot be cancelled or refunded at the giver's request, including before it is received or if it is not claimed within that period. If the recipient's Star Scroll cannot be finished, or differs from what we described before purchase, we remake it free of charge, and issue a refund if it still cannot be put right.
7. AI-Generated Content
Star Scrolls and reading texts are generated by AI (large language models). We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of generated content.
Astrological interpretations are offered for reflection and reference. They are not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Important decisions remain your own judgment and responsibility.
8. Sharing and Publishing
You are free to publish charts you create with the Service, screenshots of the Service, readings, and Star Scrolls on social media, blogs, videos (including monetized ones, such as videos that earn ad revenue) and elsewhere. No permission from or notice to us is required. We recommend, but do not require, crediting "HOSHIDOU (hoshidou.com)" as the source.
Star Scrolls and chart readings describe who a person is, and we treat them as sacred. Before publishing another person's chart or Star Scroll, please obtain that person's permission.
9. Prohibited Uses
- Unauthorized use or reverse engineering of the Service
- Harassment of other users
- Excessive automated access
- Resale of purchased Star Scrolls
- Use for illegal purposes
10. Account Suspension and Deletion
Accounts may be suspended or deleted without prior notice for violations of these terms. Users may delete their account at any time from account settings. Deleting your account ends any paid plan, and no refund is given for the remaining period.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is." We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy of chart calculations.
12. Limitation of Liability
Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on our part, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the Service. Where we are held liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim (excepting willful misconduct or gross negligence on our part).
13. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. We will announce any material changes through the app or website before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Yokohama District Court, which has jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business, as the court of first instance.
